Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore beautifully pens the undescribable feelings in this masterpiece. His 'Chokher Bali' enthralls me with every word,every sentence dripping with the poetry of expression. 'Chokher Bali' or literally 'A grain of sand in the eye, beautifully depicts a scandalous extramarital affair between the vivacious but widowed Binodini and the spoilt and impulsive Mahendra,which takes place in the midst of a joint family. Gurudev splendidly wowed me into losing myself to his spell of words,which continued to stir a longing for knowing the characters to their very soul.He reveals the conflicting emotions in the character's minds with grace. Flamboyant Mahendra is married to the shy and naive Asha, and they are befriended by Mahendra's bosom friend, Behari.
